Meet the face behind the posts
One of the first Halloween customers I remember picking was going as a Saints football player. My family has had season Saints tickets my whole life, so I spent much time each fall at the Superdome cheering on the Saints with my dad. Growing up with a dad who is a big sports fan led me to start taking pictures for different sports in high school.
I have always liked taking pictures; everywhere I went when I was younger, I took photos on one of those disposable cameras. In high school, I joined the yearbook class, where I decided to combine two things I loved: going to games and photography. My freshman math teacher was a former photographer in the military, and he gave me much advice and helped me develop the skills I have as a photographer.
Around my junior year of high school, I realized I was pretty good at sports photos and loved doing it. So, I continued doing it for college. I started working for the Nicholls State University Yearbook, La Pirogue, and I worked there during my first and second years. As of August 2024, I work for the Nicholls State athletic Department as their student potter. After college, I plan to continue to do this as a career. As well as on the side I started a photography business where I take engagement photos, senior casuals, family photos, and more. I started doing this my senior year of high school but in the last two years, I have started to get noticed and have photo shoots often.
I am very passionate about Females in sports photography, and few females are in this field. Only 36% of sports photographers are female. I have been told by men before that I could make this a career or that I'm probably not good at this because I am a female. That is why I want to inspire young women who are interested in sports photography so that they can do this. I am thankful I have family that supports my dream and helps me reach my goals as a photographer.
